That's definitely in need of some dominant Phrygian tapping
And he did a bunch of it.
I must say, I liked the way this Jubilee resissue sounds. It's WAY better than the originals I've played. Way better. Maybe there was something wrong with them? I thought they were harsh and mushy. This reissue sounds pretty sweet. We A/B'd it against my JCM 800. Not even a contest. The 800 murders the Jube...but for my buddy the Jubilee has more 80s shred gain and works better for him.
I found it's volume tipping point just past 6. It's almost like an on/off switch, which is authentic to the originals. After that it gets really raunchy, and loud, but up to 6 and it's not that bad at all. Master vol 6 on this Jubilee is about a 4 on the JCM 800 volume. 6 on the 800 and the walls are starting to peel paint. But on the Jube, 6 seemed just right. Maybe a little louder than modest gig volume, but workable. Gain on 8 was the most it'd do without getting mushy. Gain dimed was kind of a mess.
I got some noodling clips of my boy Chris. He sat and noodled for like an hour at big volume. My ears are pretty tired.
These are just random clips. I hit record as he was wailing away. He played my guitar. It's never been played like this before. I think it's sad now.
