The middle pick up ....... I'm just gonna crank it down into the body.
And actually that'll give it it's own kinda sound that nothing else will have.
Who knows?
It may be suitable like that for some weird sound a song requires
A lot of the offbeat sounds from records of old were people trying out weird things.
While the family was out I was able to make a quick clip of my new 2203.
I used a Les Paul and a beta57 about 2 inches from the grill pretty much dead center on the speaker.
Settings: Presence - 0
Bass -3
Mid -2
Treble -3
Master -2
Preamp -11 { Yes it goes to 11}

Another toy that helped destroy the elder race of man..forget about your silly whim it doesn't fit the plan.
Sounds pretty good. Nice and tight. It's missing the bitey snarl that I expect from 2203s, but your settings kind of explain that. When you can get it wound up where it wants to live, look out.

I had the master cranked up to 5 but shit was falling off of the shelves so I dialed it back.

That sounds about right.
I used my 2203 at an outside gig recently. The sound guy said I could be as loud as I want. I had the amp around 5 on the master for soundcheck. He ran over to tell me it's way too loud.
Here's some cleanish crap with the Rivolta and all my homebuilt shit.
Rivolta Modata XVIII
Tube Spring Reverba
Deluxe Revolting amp kit
Vibrato channel input 1
Volume - 5
Treb - 6
Bass - 3
Same cab and mics as the last clips. Didn't move a thing.
No EQ or FX in DAW.
Super slop playing.
Starts out on the neck, then goes to neck+bridge, then ends with bridge only. No middle pickup in this.

I thought this sounded real good. If I'd suggest anything, I might bump up the treble to give it just a little more bite.

I like the bridge the best. The reverb (or I think it was the reverb) was reacting kind of weird on the neck clip. Probably more due to the part you were playing. But it was a bit spacey/weird.

That is pretty awesome. I got no nits at all. Nothing that hasn't already been said. I'd like to hear it pushing a little harder. All you guys building your own stuff!! I am glad you didn't blow up.
I can well imagine that thing canjust scream. Lots of room to work with there. Have fun dude!

Thems all good tones. The neck is a bit more woolly than i had anticipated it would end up being but other than that they all sound great. I think the neck and bridge combo is still my favorite. Which is really odd because i usually don't like the combination of neck and bridge on any guitar really
@Greg_L I think they all sound good actually. I really like the drippy drippy neck pup on HOTRS. Its a little muddy when you strum a full chord at the end of that bit... but its a neck pick up with tonnes of reverb, so that's to be expected a bit.
I always find that two humbuckers together sound single-coily, don't know why that is.

Ah, this is kind of good... but its also kind of not quite where it could be.
Its good, but it doesn't have that almost percussive sound that you get when they're really opened up a bit.

Bridge sounds great - great playing there too.
Thanks man. It's an interesting guitar.
Yeah, seems like it. I want one more guitar and I want it to fill as much of the space I have left over between my Crimson (2 humckers, is amazing), tele (2 single coils, set up lovely, great pickups) and my Martin (better acoustic than I'll ever need.

You could certainly do a lot worse than one of these. I'm not finding anything at all wrong with it, besides thinking the nut could be better for a vibrato guitar.

I since getting shot of the Washburn and PRS I also have a guitar hook to spare so I might as well use it!

What in the hell is wrong with you!!?!
Out of all the many numbers you could have put in that sentence, why would you choose that one?
It's the smallest number you could have chosen and doesn't seem to fit the rest of that sentence.
Hell, you could have eliminated it entirely and the sentence would have made perfect sense!
