I think that some of that resonant build up is caused by the bass guitar. Try re-eqing the bass first.
I know it isn't that this time, mate! It resonates on B! I can see it in the wave form.
Its worse when I'm palm muting too.
Then it's most likely the speaker sim. I don't know why they make those things excessively bassy. I've used a bunch of different sims and most of them have the same issue. You could try the Two Notes Torpedo Wall of Sound speaker sim for free. It doesn't have the too much bass issue that the other sims have. https://www.two-notes.com/en/wall-of-sound
Another toy that helped destroy the elder race of man..forget about your silly whim it doesn't fit the plan.

I've tried a bunch of other cab impulses with a direct line out and they were worse. I think the latest clip with a bit of extra EQ is the best and I'll probably run with that for now. No harm in having a go with that two notes stuff though I suppose.

He might be right about the bass tone not helping matters any. The bass tone seems very hollow. Lots of low resonance and clickety clack but not much meat in the middle. You would think this scenario would leave some room for the guitars, but it aint happening. All of the low end from everything everywhere is eating up the space.

I'll give it a go. Ocnor normally has good ideas that I haven't thought of!
Did a bit more work on this last night, was getting really fucked off with it last night 'cos I'd had two beers and my playing was a bit shit... but I did end up trying loads of different things and managed to play things right in the end too! Sounds OK to me.

The guitars sound pretty good but that bass is killing me. Lol. You need to tighten that shit up. The boom and resonance in the bass is too much. It's literally rattling my floor toms.
I was just listening to this with a mate with the monitors up loud in the room as he was about to do some backing vocals for me - was immediately apparent that the bass was up way loud! I do like that bassline though!

If one does not stay on top of this thread daily it seems it's pointless to even come here and help.
I've just listened to the last bunch of JD tracks and have to say i much like the last one. open rhythm tone test. thats a good one. I am on my monitors as well and it's a treat over my earbuds at work. obviously. really hearing the not blackstar JDtone coming to life. Although i did hear traces of it in the 20 second clip from the previous page.
Miner: the last clip you posted sounded really good too man. Much better than some of the others. I really prefer it with the one mic set up. back to basics is always a good way to go.

I've been listening to a lot of Dub and Rude boys lately. Its fine...
Jdude: I like all your new tones dude, but I think you might need to address your bass a little now...I've found when I use a slightly different guitar tone, the bass sometimes needs a little massage too...Not always, but sometimes...

Thanks Shan, I think I'm just gonna stick with one mic when I use the ISO cab...Dunno what or why, but there's something wonky happening inside that thing using 2 mics...

Here's another cool tone I found today - just a touch more mids. I used this one in a song this evening and it worked really well. Dunno why, this just sounds loud to me.

Pretty good but it still has that scratchiness in it. Direct out again?

Yeah - I did this late last night. Not sure if I've got much use for that in a mix context, but when I heard it with a few open chords I was pretty pleased with how it sounded.
The scratchiness on the direct out might just be something that I have to learn to live with - it pretty much disappears in a mix.
I don't seem to be able to make this amp sound bad - pretty much everything I do with it is better than my Blackstar. I was listening to my "Entertain Ourselves To Death" mix, deciding whether I should re-track the guitars (as I'm going to redo the vocal mistakes today). I've always thouogh that this mix had my best Blackstar tones in it. I recorded a few tones and compared them to the Blackstar tones (which I was reluctant to delete) and I couldn't believe the difference! They were much better.
Weird thing I've noticed (although you'll probably tell me theres a good reason for it) is that the newer tones sound much louder in the mix. I've check my metering to make sure that they're about the same level as they were previously but when mixing I can knock a few db off them for the same sort of percieved loudness - gives much more space in the mix.

I would guess that it's because you mangled the Blackstar tracks just to make them passable. Boost the front end, EQ in the loop, etc, you butchered that shit just to make it work. The less you do to a sound to make it work in a mix, the better.
