James - sounds more like a Tele which is fine.
Minerman - classic rock tones with the effects guitar added.

Jdude, I'm sure you know this, but I didn't mean anything by my remark about using too much gain dude...I was just wanting to hear the character of your new guitar...I like a lot of gain too, but after a certain point, it's hard for me to distinguish one from another...
JD01 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 02, 2018 1:55 pmAnyway, this is the bridge pup of my tele into the SD1 with the level maxed and the drive on zero into the clean channel of my H&K.

Starts with the bridge pup which is actually quite crunchy and then onto the neck pup which is really clean.

There's a touch of Paul Gilbert reverb from the HoF on it as I always have a touch of verb when I'm just playing to myself.

I think this sounds great myself dude, just the right amount of dirt to sound pushed, but it's still got the guitar's character...

The first part (bridge p'up) is almost an old-school AC/DC tone man...Well done... :minernuggs:

BTW, I think I've asked you before, but what are the dimensions of your 2x12??? Lemme know...
no worries Miner - its always good to get advice on tones.

Miner those tones sound great in that mix for the most part.
The talkbox is a bit loud/verby and separate to everything else to me, but that's a mix thing not a tone thing.

How do Thomann do it with the HB stuff? Design it in Germany, build it all in China then send it back to Germany for QA/QC?

Thanks Jdude...I've been wanting to go with 2x12's for quite a while, but I don't want to get a cab that sounds small...I don't see any other amps in my future but I'd love to have a 2061 style for the Chupa & a 2x12 cab for the Mini Jubilee...

Thanks man, I suppose I got a bit carried away with the effects on the talkbox...

strat > Chupa > Greenback ISO cab > i5

There are 5 guitars on this:
dirty L/R, strat bridge humbucker
clean L/R strat bridge split
"effects" guitar bridge humbucker

Chupa Mix 9-2-2-18.mp3

Lemme know what you guys think...
All miner tone all day long. I quite like this. It really is your sound man. Much more so than the EVH. It just feels like a miner jam.

Sounds really good man. I much prefer this stuff to the one's a page ago. I think you could could safely push your tele to an inbetween of the first group of tones and this one. But lean it a little more towards this one. The first bunch seemed to really compress the life that is a tele sound right out of it. While i can hear that cool chimey sound in this one. :like: :happytrees:

Thanks Shan...The EVH LBX is a good little amp, but it just has way too much gain, even for me...The Chupacabra is a much better fit for what I do, & I simply love it...

The volume on the amp was around "8" or so on the dial, using a single 25w Greenback speaker...That's about as far as I'd push it because I don't wanna blow that speaker...I've had it for quite a while (IIRC, I've had it for about 5 years  ) & it's broken in really well...I like all the speakers I have, but the Greenback is my favorite...

Yeah that definitely sounds better than the high gain tones with the Tele. Try it without the boost and some natural amp crunch.

Check this dude's punk rock Tele tones out. Almost shreddy. Tele + JCM 800.

LOL - neo-classical punk metal! My clean channel has a master and gain knob. I might try cranking the gain all the way on that to see what happens - than should get me to a mild crunch. Either that or just turn the gain way down on my crunch channel.

Was just thinking as I was typing this. I've barely explored the clean channel on my amp. All the knobs are on about 12 O'clock and I've been happy with it.

John Williamson had a fair bit of classical guitar cred. I saw Sky at the Opera House in the 80s - it was a free ticket - they were talented et al BUT there was no FRONT to the band - no interaction - just their arrangements of pleasant stuff and it was a soporific after a while.

It's no surprise that a section sounds like it came from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds with Herbie on board! The specs the drummer is wearing are clearly a lifestyle and taste choice.

That space signal is too sophisticated and cool for Plan 9.
They'd not have been able to afford the down to go with the up.

You could use that to do a punk version of the Dr. Who theme. I know you probably don't know what that is, but it's fairly iconic piece of music.
I know what Dr Who is, but I've never watched a second of it.
