Trad Wife - VHS does parody music

Post by vomitHatSteve »

So the main joke of this song popped into my head, and I couldn't get rid of it without finishing the rest of the song.

So here's a parody of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy"
It's a very minimal mix compared to my usual. (Other than the harmonies and doubling the Abomination, this is exactly how I would do it live.) So I'm curious to hear y'all's mix recommendations for it

I thought I'd commented on this last night but I had had a drink so probably messed it up.

It's a fun listen. I don't know anything about Billie Eilish to compare but this sounds good, although maybe a little lofi? Is that intentional?

All my stuff is a little lo-fi by design. And the original is also kind of lo-fi but in a different sort of way.

I actually used this video as a basis for a lot of my production decisions

All good then. It's definitely got that lofi sound. :coolstorybro:

The 1st two verses are on point for your personal tortured phrasing thing...works for me.
I enjoyed the whole thing - sort of Tubes song without the histrionic guitars.
Cheers

I'm not familiar with the tubes. I'll have to check them out momentarily

Excellent. Yeah, being this vocal forward is a little off-brand for me!
The Abomination is my modified shortscale bass. It's tuned to D2D3A3D4 so that I can play bass and guitar parts simultaneously (and there's an additional pup under the D2)
