What is this telling me? Just that it is it's own little weird sub-genre of a Fawn Marshall?
No just that the JMP in this test is that fawn one I got from your buddy.

Without even trying I can tell you that it does nothing because it's the same take reamped through three amps so essentially it's the same thing. There's no performance or time difference between the three.

Ah, fair enough. I don't have a re-amp box so when I'm comparing tones I always do multiple takes. I suppose I should get one at some point.

Think of it like sending the same track through different EQs and panning them around. You end up with sort of a deluxe mono. You won't get spread because there's no time difference in the tracks.

If I did three takes through three amps and spread them around it would sound humongous. You need those little fluctuations in time.

That's what I did when I was comparing guitars a couple of months ago

Here's all 3 left, center, right. Pretty much does nothing.

Here's the three with some fake spread. One nudged 7ms left, one straight up dead center, one nudged 7ms right.

As I think anyone can tell, faking it doesn't sound great. There are phase problems. I'd always just do another track.

Yeah, that sounds weird - in places it sounds like you actually have a phaser on it.

Quick video of clean tone of the new Hofner. Neck pickup with Vox AC 10. Will eventually make a video with all kinds of different sounds.

Njce man.

But I couldn't take my eyes of your watch flopping around on your wrist. Was giving me Willie's. I don't know why. I'll see myself out now.

Sounds good though!!!!

Haha I don’t even notice it when I play. I do take it off when I play bass because it gets in the way then

That does sound quite nice, what was your amp/mic setup there?

Guitar into a Vox AC10 recorded with an SM57 3 inches away from roughly the center of the speaker.

I think everything was at 12 o clock

I’m about to do more videos if my roommate isn’t in the house. I’ve been getting tons of pedals recently. Mostly Boss because the form factor is unbeatable, but I did get a Big Muff because I love the smiley face half fuzz/half distortion sound of it.

I found a Big Muff with the guitar/amp gets me the exact same tone as a song I love by Sleepy Sun. I’ll see if that still translates in the recording.

Finally had aa chance to record something. Here's my Big Muff playing a butchered riff vs the real thing. I like it. Need to tame the feedback but that's probably not possible with this thing.

Managed to record some lunchtime guitars today. Just a random riff that sounds like some sort of classic rock.

ES135 on the left Les Paul Jr on the right. I had a good mess about with my tone after fucking it all up recently 'cos I hadn't been recording much and I think I'm back near where I need to be. There's no EQ on the guitars at all, but in a proper mix I'd probably high-pass them a little and also a slightly low pass to take that cracklyness off the Les Paul (P90s - sound great, but I find they get crackly)

It sounds big and muffy.... but in isolation like that it makes pretty harsh listening - the mix is so much smoother. Dunno how much of that is down to your playing and the noises in your room. Come up with a generic little riff and stick it in a mix.

I think the mix is a little darker. But I’ll try again with my LP. I just don’t think the Hofner can handle fuzz.

Sounds great — what’s the amp/sim?
