Family, am I right?
I had my brother in town for a week, and we played a show together.
This is how that turned out.
Also whiskey vomit, but that's harder to photograph.

Gave up on the refret ?
People want something for nothing, they want it right now. Either they can't tell quality or don't care but feel it is important that everyone agrees with them.

Re: Family, am I right?
We were bickering, and it ended in the artistic statement of smashing my guitar during his set.
Lot of meaning and art to it, but I'm still kinda peeved. I endorse smashing an instrument on stage at least once in your life. It might be obnoxious tho.
Neck is cracked about 20% of the way going up, so I suspect a refret is not gonna save it!

That's a most fitting and just end to a Washburn Strat.
It's the price you (washburn) pay for 'trying' to imitate a fine instrument that has been in the hands of most every iconic player at one point or another.

I don't even like strats!
I like washburns tho. Guess I'll just have to upgrade to a fine Cort.

Washburn & vantage were neck n neck in the early 80s.
Vantage 80s instruments seem to have accrued some value based on build quality.
Washnurn less so.
The prob. was a sequence of ownership changes etc.
Vantage often has the associated glamour of the Motsumoko factory where as Washburn used, at least for a while, a custom guitar grade business to make their axes.
Death of the washburn - I'd reach for a Teisco related one and preferably one that isn't a knockoff design.
OR
get another neck and alter the body to an early Devo aesthetic - around sloppy or Satisfaction but well before yellow suits and then the flower pots.
