Preliminary for Larry, Curley & Mo.

Post by rayc »

I had this idea about a week ago but have been pruning the structure and reworking the progressions until I'm sort of happy with the song.
Draft guitar parts, (well, they weren't going to be but there was a vacuum cleaner running upstairs and has infiltrated) and def. a draft bass part - I used my Knockhofner to work out the parts - will use a full sized bass to track.
BLUE EYELINER V1 Stooges Style

OR
Perhaps Jangle Pop Rock?
Dragged out the HB 12..
Blue Eyeliner V2 Jangle pop

#3 Vantage bass, a bit more rhythm guitar in spots and some timing tweaking:
BLUE EYELINER 3

BLUE EYELINER 5 blend
Adjusted as suggested by David and I blended the wah from Mix 1 in for fun.

BLUE EYELINER MIX 7
No wah, BIAB solo guitar for some surf twang.

Jumping in on 3

I like the post-punky vibes of it.

Positively pop @ray !

When that more distorted guitar just stops cold it's a bit unsubtle and jarring - consider bridging that somehow perhaps. Especially as it comes back in half a bar later...

Yeah, it made more sense in the Stooges style version. I'll allow it to sustain through a bit. PHANKZ.

I'm jumping in on mix 3.

I like the snarly guitar over on the left man. Thats cool. I think it should stay regardless of how many versions this takes on. Cool foundation you got here.

With out vocals in it there is a vibe of this being very layered in terms of hte guitar work. The sounds and spatial places they occupy seem to flit around a little bit to my ears. IS this intentional? Or just my tired brain ?

I think you botched the upload of #5 ray. It's only 0:20 long.

Don't you hate it when you move the end point of your time selection and don't notice... then walk away when rendering because who has the time, then don't notice at the upload... been there. :lollers:

I more often do the opposite: I highlight the section I want to export and then click to render the entire project.

I didn't think anyone would want to hear any more than an example of the changes. That 20 sec has the extended guitar David suggested plus the wah.
I CAN upload the lot if you want it.
