Nice, what are the waves like there? A couple of my friends have surfed Carolina and Louisiana, don't know anyone who's been as far west as Texas.

The surfing is okay. Not huge but there's always people surfing. Surfside has two jetties that sort of protect the beach from the usual south winds off the gulf. This keeps the water pretty clean and the waves break with a steady frequency. As you get away from the jetties things get more rough and choppy.
