A few of you probably still remember The Crappy Beatle. He contacted me a while back with a couple of half songs and asked me if I could finish them. So here is one of them: Can We Still Be Friends. The music is me. The lyrics are probably 40% Crappy/60% me. Or close.

What kind of question is that? Are we just following trends?
Do we break down here? Is that where this thing ends?
With those five little words - Can we still be friends?


You were playing with words, I didn't take your cues
But I really kind of think it can be excused
This is all "in your face" abuse
But that's the sort of thing of which I stand accused
See, it's super crazy easy to obfuscate
The query I didn't anticipate
It takes a mathematician to extrapolate Oh no

Going from lover to friend is a little bit too extreme
Staring at the ceiling and not really feeling. I swear, you know what I mean

Sounds pretty good.

I think the vocal balance falls out a little on the modulated chorus: the lead vocal loses a little power, so the bgvox start to become more prominent. I think a volume boost or an arrangement tweak might be in order.
