A mate of mine came over this afternoon and fancied doing a U2 cover :)

I don't know the original, (I'm the opposite of a fan), but you knocked out a good one.
Nice that it has, apart from the melody, almost none of the usual U2 signatures.
Cheers

I'm not really a U2 fan either, just the Achtung Baby album was just one of those things that was always on when we were young.

We did two other covers yesterday too, i haven't mixed them yet.

I'm not familiar with the original either.

Sounds pretty good. A couple words are getting lost, especially at the start of phrases. Breaths are louder than I like. But all the instrumentation is balanced.
Impressive for something knocked out in a day.

Nice! I really like the beginning. Not familiar with this song myself but I think it sounds great!
Not bad for a single day's work! Takes me forever to get anything done. . .
If I knew what I was doing, I'd be dangerous!

Cheers guys, listened to it a few times myself now and reckon I need to reduce the reverb on the vocal a bit.

We actually got 3 songs recorded yesterday. Didn't quite finish the 3rd one though and reckon the vocal could do with a few more takes in the 2nd one too.

Cool cover. I don't know the original at all but this cover on it's own two legs works. Good mix. Mix 2 sounds great. Vocals are definitely more focused on mix 2. Nice work JD.
