Shaped Like Human - getting caught up on my video making

Post by vomitHatSteve »

So my current target is one Regdar song a month and at least some kind of video for each.
I started the weekend a dozen behind.

Got two done, so that's positive!

... I should really be booking a tour instead of wasting my time with this

Anyway, here's my attempt at recreating 2001: A Space Odyssey using only footage from the Prellinger Archives

Monkeys! Can't go wrong with monkeys... :lollers: :like:

Good old Prelinger archives - I haven't looked there for a while.

I have to get onto video making as well, once I have the album done. Seeing it doesn't matter when I release it I can hang onto it for a month or two while I knock up a video or two, I hope.

Thanks, guys!

Yeah, since I signed to my friend's label, I no longer have direct access to distrokid to distribute songs; so I need to put songs somewhere until they're compiled into an album. YT seems like a good candidate.

BIG NEWS...I didn't know where else to post this... I received this in an email today: "We wanted to let you know that your order, or a part of your order 71181 placed on 9/26/2022 was delivered.
Item # Description Qty
NJR-084-CD Regdar and the Fighters - Repossess the Sky Pt. 1 2"

It has indeed and will be 1st on the night's playlist.

Steve,
CONGRATULATIONS.
Very cool album...a nice "warm", coherent sound across all tracks and clear as a bell.
The quick shift from one song to another, rather than the standard 2 sec pause, took a couple of tracks to get to.
The sequencing was good and the placement of Nina was excellent.
I've not popped it into the computer for the commentary yet.
I REALLY enjoyed the album.
Cheers

Thank you!

Yeah, I made the gaps pretty small because there was some consideration of putting it on vinyl too. I suppose longer gaps would breath more, but then I'd have really been pushing the 25 minutes a side limit.

Having my music be properly mastered is a really great improvement from what I'm usually posting! :lollers:

As mentioned the short gaps was fine once my expectation disappeared.
Yeah, the mastering is just as it should be - creates a sonic fingerprint that marks it as a album rather than a bunch of tracks.
External mastering certainly improves my stuff...I simply don't have the ears for it.
Elvis Costello & the Attractions' album Get Happy was an experiment in cramming at 48 minutes while retaining audio quality...some very good mastering & cutting...the LP still sounds fab.

Yeah, I've got a vinyl master of this sitting on my HDD too, but I can barely hear the difference and have no idea how one goes about creating that difference! It's a whole art that I am just probably never gonna learn
