My 2nd stupidest cover ever

Post by Greg_L »

In honor of the late great Olivia Newton John. RIP. :not worthy:

Date stamps on the tracks say I tracked most of this in Nov of 2010.
Then I apparently re-did the rhythm guitars in 2017. Don't know why nor do I remember doing that. :cuckoo:

But anyway, now we are here, in Xanadu.
Xanadu.mp3
These are the tracks just as they were. I moved a few pans and levels for this mix but didn't change anything.

Ah, so Jeff Lynn's stain can be lifted, a bit.
You got close in the bvox to Lynn flayed skin...
Nice reverb on the million part.
SOUNDS FAB.
Cheers

I've not heard the original, but this sounds great. Actually really love the clacky bass on this, you don't do that any more.
Great vocals on this. I don't even know what the fuck Xanadu is.

Thanks guys. :illdrinktothat:

@JD01 That bass...ugh. Lol. When I opened this project for the first time in many years the bass was the first thing I went to. I wanted to see what the bass sounded like. Back then I used to record through this small Ampeg combo bass amp. What I hear in that track brings me back to those days - my trusty 25 yr old Squier P-Bass with dead strings and that Ampeg bass combo. I don't like that sound anymore but I like what I played. I sure aint re-doing it.

Ha! cool! great cover. I saw your police truck one in another thread but haven't listened yet. You are digging out a bunch of old gems.
