When I was talking about bass DI/sansamp setups last year, we discussed a fair number of them.
I think bassists have in general been long more accepting of DI tones than guitarists tho. I suspect it's because for the most part bassists have historically striven for clean tones, and guitar tone has been so shaped by the idea of pushing amplifiers to their physical limits for so long.
