Strat build

Post by ocnor »

new-strat-1.jpg
I finally got my "Stone Soup" strat finished. I started out building a kit from Stewmac. I kept replacing parts one at a time until I ended up with a guitar that has none of the original kit parts lol!

I also built a new rack mounted computer to go with my new UA Apollo X6 interface.

I fully modded that pedal years ago. It sounds nothing like the original.

I was being a doucher. That pedal and the MT-2 have pretty much become Gear memes and i was running with it. You set it up and I just hit it home lol!!

All that aside your did a bang up job of that strat! It looks fantastic. Did you happen to document it's evolution at all? Picture of various stages and what not. I'd love to see that stuff. What did you use to get the final finish? What made you get to this finished product?

I was 19. I only cared about rocking out playing live, beer, skateboarding and chasing tail. I didn't really give a shit about guts of anything back then.

Sell and get something else.

After several failed attempts at finishing the original body, I gave up and bought an already finished Fender American Professional II body.

Nice, I just don't have the time or patience to get something like that done.

I owner a DS1 for quite a while. They're OK and not as bad as people say.
