So all notifications are rouge... or red, anyway.

Someone had to.

No notification

Apparently removing subscriptions was the trick. (So the bug was not enough notifications going out before the update, I guess?)

Maybe I should check on my yahoomail account...

It is possible it could have been buggy before? I checked my subscriptions to actual sub forums and it looks as though i get my notifications in a timely manner on them. only difference being is i don't have them set to email? I am not entirely sure I knew that was even a thing. I just have all my notifications set to notify me in the forum only i think.

I think this is resolved. i don't feel like going back in time to pinpoint what the earlier bug may have been. So long as shit is just working now.

If you updated the bbs software, then the bug was probably on their end.

Probably a different bug now that's doing on-site notifications when it was set to emails, but whatever. I hadn't been using that feature for a while anyway.

I was getting notifications for a while, then nothing, then, some notifications. . . doesn't really matter for me as I am in the habit of checking every now and again (keeps me off of social media :) ).
If I knew what I was doing, I'd be dangerous!

there are different ways to get notifications alison. usually when some one quotes you or mentiones you are default notifications. you will always see those. But where waters get murky is how you have any subscriptions set up. it might not hurt to periodically check your control panel and see what all you have subscribed to.

I will post a link here that will take you to your subscriptions. Don't panic when you click on it, everyone here and future browsers will not see your particular control panel, it will always link back to their own control panel. Not yours. Only you will see yours :like: :sherlock:

Don't think i am outing you or anything haha.

I do see the notifications when I am in the group. I guess I was remembering when, quite a while back, I'd get a notification in my email that someone had left a comment. Don't really need that now as I do check in with the group on a more consistent basis (helps me stay off of social media! :eep: )

There is one question though. . . how do you subscribe to a forum? When I checked the control panel, I saw that I was subscribed to "Let's Have a Listen". Is there a way to subscribe to other forums? Sorry, still trying to learn the ropes! I'm also trying to participate in other forums more, it helps me get to know everyone a bit better! :illdrinktothat:

good question.

There are two ways i am aware of to handle subscriptions. You can subscribe to an entire subforum and you can subscribe to individual threads.

To subscribe to an entire Subforum, let's say for example you want to subscribe to every single new thread that get's posted in the Mixing & mastering Subforum. Enter the sub forum to the view the list of threads and scroll right to the very bottom. and you will see this.

Image

Just click on that check box and you will be subscribed to all new posts and threads going on in there.

or if there is one particular thread you find yourself interested in anywhere on the forum at all, there is a wrench icon menu at the bottom of each page of the thread and it will have a subscribe check / unsubscribe check box for you to toggle there as well.

Hope this helps Alison! :sherlock:

@WhiskeyJack it does indeed! Thank you! I need to remember the wise words of my daughter when she gives me advice on figuring things out on computers. . .just click on it, mom, then see what happens! :facepalm2: (my kids, when they were little used to call me a Luddite :) )
