Two racks'll give you option to put an old door across them to use as a desk!

Re: New Gear Day
As it turns out my recording desk has a gap between top and metal frame that's just big enough to stick a sawn off bit of pine that was attached to the new dishwasher (never throw out potentially useful bits of wood!) and so I've jammed 3 of them in along the depth - headphones and cables all sorted.

Yessss, it’ll make for a decent makeshift desk. And I don’t really care about leg room. It hasn’t been an issue for me so far. If anything, it makes turning those knobs on the hardware much easier because they’re right at my feet!

Re: New Gear Day
I have no legroom but I always sit back from the speakers anyways.

Gaming....on a mac. This is why I’ll never go proprietary. Once my iMac gets old enough. I’m getting the 2019 iMac. And once that gets old enough, I’m going back to PC. That or I might just buy a mac and get a console at that point. But I like gaming on computer most.

According to Apple you iMac was old enough to replace the day you bought it.

Good to see they're still pumping out Assassin's Creeds....
I've never thought about gaming on a computer. What do you use for a controller?

I use an XBOX controller. It’s nice if you get the newer XBOX controllers, you can just Bluetooth connect them.

Should have given more context. lol. This is a 2006 Apogee. It’s oooold. I have to use a thunderbolt to FireWire adapter. Took me a hot second to get things up and running too

Re: New Gear Day
I digital blanket has been removed from speakers by a somewhat better, but 16 year old, AD/DA converter? MOST decent interfaces have have converters to match it these days. MAYBE apple crippled your sound so you'd feel compelled to get an Apple specific device or, perhaps, the adapters you used have added a little filtering.
I THINK you're going to have to back this up with some before and after blind test stuff.
BUT, if you were having a laugh- well done.

Yeah spacing out capitalized letters is internet speak for sarcasm. I’ll never understand people who say nonsense like that, because it’s not true. All in their heads.rayc wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 2:01 amI digital blanket has been removed from speakers by a somewhat better, but 16 year old, AD/DA converter? Re: New Gear Day
I've had a few genuine "blanket been taken off the speakers" moments.
First was when I put an EQ pedal in the loop of my Blackstar amp with a little notch at 400hz - the factory EQ on those things was terrible.
2nd was when I got a 2x12 cab to go with the amp instead of just using the combo speaker.
3rd was when I got my new H&K amp

And those are definitely things that make a difference. I remember reading a Gearspace (formerly Gearslutz) thread a while back where a guy compared a Behringer vs Aurora and people overwhelmingly chose the Behringer.JD01 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 11:09 am I've had a few genuine "blanket been taken off the speakers" moments.

Well, I learnt something..."alt caps for sarcasm".
Thanks Crows, I doubt I'll employ it but I may be better able to read.
Did you find current/functioning drivers for that thing? Te access to them was a issue years back.

Took me a hot second but it’s working now. Apogee made it a little difficult but it’s all up and running!

Yeah “/s” at the end of your statement is another one, but it just feels weird to do it that way.Lt. Bob wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 7:38 pmI did not know thatCrowsofFritz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 05, 2022 2:57 am
