GREG...iso career?

Post by rayc »

Greg_L,
A chap on another forum, having freely collaborated with a few people and received compliments has become emboldened enough to offer this...

Custom Drum Tracks
US$40 as a starting point for a "Single file stereo mix".
I don't really see it taking off as he's collabed with amateurs in the main and for gratis. It's a big leap.I wouldn't say the price was unreasonable.

Single file stereo mix? Pretty limiting...

I guess he's trying to work down to a price.

No thanks. But more power to him if he can find rubes to give him 40 dollars for an un-mixable drum track.

Why not offer raw single tracks? One sale a month covers your dropbox pro (or whatever) subscription

If you're not making one sale a month, it's a hobby. Why charge?

He's offering multi tracks, raw tracks etc.though that's not clear.
That's his starting point.
I contacted him because I know who he is and told him he needed a starting price, (he was going to decide/negotiate a price upon inquiry but that's no way to attract customers), as well as what can be expected for what price.
He opted for his minimum and no further front page explanation.
Most folk won't read further if they read at all.
I doubted you'd be interested Greg_L but was interested in your impression.

Tell him a professional user experience person you know suggested he do the following:
 • Asterisk the $40
 • Remove the word "only" from the H2 text
 • Lighten the colour grey for the H2 text
