That's it! That's the definition of boomy... I've never managed to quite define in my own mind what it means (but you know it when you hear it).
We should start a glossary of terms for defining sound.
The worst gig I've been to was at my wife's insistence...sometime in the late 80s she wanted to see Simple Minds..we went and besides the songs the sound was awful because, for the whole gig, the bass guitar was "...one big ball of bass with no pitch." That's exactly what it sounded like Now I have the words to describe it.
