First Piano Recording

Post by JD01 »

Only about 30s long so you don't have to endure it for long.
Me trying to do an Elton John impression while playing Moonlight Sonata.

Also, the first little piano piece that I wrote to practice moving my fingers and changing chords.

Those sound really nice to my ears. Is that recorded direct from the keyboard to the interface?

Yeah - I realised (cos I've never looked before) that you could chose stereo input in Reaper.
I have a stereo to duel-mono Y cable.
I've added Reverb to it... cos why the hell not!

Cheers. Playing is a bit ropey. But the sound is tidy. In'it?

Dude you should be whipped for EJing Moonlight Sonata - but the first half sounded good! :lollers:

Got the crucial slowdown right.

On that note, I play classical music while I'm WFH to drown out the builders next door - I don't really listen to it so it's not too distracting, so Beethoven Piano Sonatas can be today's pick. :like:

Yeah, tone isn't bad at all. You'll have to inhabit other parts of the keyboard or pan differently as you get there.
Cheers

Yeah. Sounds pretty good.

Some timing issues on the warm-up that you'll want to tighten up as you keep going, but your tone is in a good place.

Yeah, sometimes my timing doesn't fall into place. I'll improve with more practice.

It's weird, it's kind of tempo dependent at the moment. Too slow and my timing is shite, too fast and its shite.
