Eastwood .... how ugly can we make a guitar and still get people to buy it?

New Guitar Day? Obsessed with tone? 10 on the volume dial not enough? Celestion vs. Electrovoice? Cum in, feel the noize.

Agreed. Its funny you posted this today becasue yesterday I was watching this and when he talks about his custom they built for him I was not impressed.

Start at 11:40, he should have kept with Eastwoods original idea for the guitar IMHO. Its not so much the shape of the body but the holes I dont dig.

well first let me say that I actually like ALL guitars so I would certainly be delighted to have any of the ugly guitars in my collection.
The fact is that I'd love to have every single one of the gits that I'm declaring to be ugly.
And Eastwood, as I said, have some guitars that I'd love love love to have. Their reissue of the old Kustom guitars really makes me perk up.
And they have some reissues of some early japanese gits that I covet.

My first guitar was this and I'd love to find one even though I know it's a POS

But these put the ugh in ugly even though I'd take any of them in a heartbeat .... plus the log I put a picture up of earlier.

Oh, and I actually owned an original Ovation Breadwinner .... terrible guitar .... I'm sure the Eastwood version is much better.

The OP guitar looks like it was modelled on Devo's early visual deconstruction.
The Teisco is GORGEOUS. I've lusted after that model, and most Teisco multi pick up models to be honest, for decades. It also sounds pretty fabulous too. Expensive things now.
Here's a relatively cheap one - not the exact model - different inlays and trem.

and I, of course, remember those from when they were new.
Baldwin amps used that color coded switching system

I make no point of hiding my Eastwood boner but i will concur that some of the stuff they put out are downright hideous. I would have no use for many of them but if i recall correctly he does recreations of some really wongo nostalgia pieces which is why he's got so many oddball units in the catalog.

When they hit a home run they hit a home run though.

I WISH. For the telecasters at least. I have a strat i found at a garbage dump. I am good for strats. For real though. I wonder what kind of shitstorm Eastwood would walk into if they just started firing out cool telecaster knock offs?

no they were blowing out some Backlund knock off overstock for 500$ off for a few hours. rareGuitars.com or whatever site Eastwood backlinked too had some Combinatas on for really really attractive prices too. Might still be on there if a guy was to go looking.

I love that Silvertone! I had a Winston single pickup into a little Kalamazoo amp with a 10" speaker, and my buddy had a Silvertone just like yours into a Silvertone amp, the one with the controls down the side (horizontal) and the diamond shaped cut out hiding most of the 12" speaker.

We decided he was the "lead" player cause he had more pickups. I later got a Gibson Invader amp which blew his little rig away. 1972 Basement fun with Grand Funk Railroad baby! Mike still has his 4 p/u Silvertone. He's in another part of the country now so I haven't seen it, but he always kept his shit meticulously cleaned up so probably looks like new.

This is a very sexy guitar :eep: :eep: :eep: Not much of the Airline brand does it for me but this right here. This is very much a Shan guitar :like: :like: I love everything about this. Just messaged them about a lefty model. I already know the answer but i had to ask. The price is pretty decent.
