Re: Pink Floyd Pickin
Where's the random BBC screaming in the background?
Sounds nice. I like the tone you got out of it.

Thanks liv_rong
It's just the little Fishman condenser built into the inside the guitar.
I have always loved the sound I can get from it.
When I was playing gigs it was awesome, it also has a bridge piezo that you can blend with the mic.
Pretty cool.

Jeeze i must have missed this the first go around. Very nice MT.
That does sound amazing. So there is actually a little mic inside the guitar somewhere? Did you add that to it or is that how you got it?

Yeah it had a mic inside. It came installed on the guitar.WhiskeyJack wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 3:43 pm Jeeze i must have missed this the first go around. Very nice MT.

It is one of the reasons I bought this one.
I think the mic is actually that silver disc in the second photo here.

Well I'll be damned. Wouldja lookit that. I don't know why i thought you had a Taylor but a Martin is just as good and likely better. What a great rig.
I wonder what my acoustic has in it now? Definitely not that i don't think. I'll dig it out here in a little bit.

Pretty interesting feature I never use is the jack is TRS so you can go stereo with the mic on one side the bridge piezo on the other.WhiskeyJack wrote: ↑Thu May 07, 2020 7:10 pm Well I'll be damned. Hey musicturtle do you recall the model number of your acoustic guitar?
I've got a friend that's shopping for a new acoustic. He's mainly a live performer but he's been dabbling in recording lately as well. When he said he wanted an electro-acoustic, I immediately thought of how good the guitar sounds in this video and wanted to point him towards whatever model you're using here.

Tadpui it is a Martin DC-16GTE.
I believe it is a discontinued model but there seem to be some new ones floating around on Reverb and the like.
Not an inexpensive guitar either. I have had mine for almost 20 years though and it has held up well.

Re: Pink Floyd Pickin
Thanks for the info! Those look like great guitars. I see one on Reverb for about $1500, but that might be out of his budget. I'm just having trouble recommending anything that only has the under-saddle piezo pickup since those sound so awful. The pickup system in yours sounds stellar.musicturtle wrote: ↑Mon Jun 08, 2020 5:24 pm @Tadpui it is a Martin DC-16GTE.

This is a link to the pickup system if that helps.
There may be other guitars/manufacturers who use it.
Or he could buy it and have it installed in on he already owns.
