Packaging decided - Launch date set

Post by muttley »

Its been a while since I updated you all on how things are going with the mutt*pup launch. Well we are set.

There was a delay while we were mulling over options for the packaging and printing etc. Nothing seemed to fit the tick list which if you remember was, Unique branding, recyclable 100%, cheap to keep costs down and fit the steam punk boutique market whilst being easy to scale and source.

Finally we landed on using a recyclable papier mache box that fits all the pups and have gone with our own range of ink stamps to brand them. The result is a pretty unique and safe and secure package that is cheap and easy to produce. It will probably need a bit of refining with getting the right ink and print but we are just about there.

Pics below and launch date is set for August 1st. Its happening people, so I'm going to be ramping up the social sharing side in the next month or so. Watch this space.

Nice work mutt. Do you hang out on the stamping forum to get tips on evenly applying pressure and centring?

Yes, there is a stamping forum... :) :lollers:

Remind me of dates and times again Bill. My diary at the moment is crazy but I would really like to try and hook up if I can. :like:

I think you should include a spec card. Magnet type, wire type, measurements, etc. I like that stuff. I think others might as well. It adds a personal touch to the "hand built" idea.

All thats gonna happen. Inside the box will be a warranty card, a brief wiring colour scheme, and a spec sheet as well as some promo stickers or freeby picks, gig spanner etc. depending on whats to hand... Oh and the baseplate will be engraved or stamped with the doghead logo. Pics next week once production starts rolling.
