I like his attitude towards recording.

I saw this the other day, awesome. In fact, pretty much all of those "Show us your junk" episodes are good.
That studio is pretty affordable to record in. Like an average band can easily get in there. I think its less than $1500/day. I mean if you got 4 guys with some money and want his skills its totally worth it. The bass player in my old band/also on my EP recorded with him there but it was never released lol.

Yeah I like the idea that the role of the equipment and the engineer is capture what the artist is providing, not to color it in their own way.
Seems like a cool dude.

I watched about half of that tour yesterday, it was pretty cool. I'll come back to it at some point and finish it off.

Yes, that has been my main priority since I first ever recorded anything. It's also why I reject the trend of putting too much importance on "producers".musicturtle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 24, 2019 5:37 pm Yeah I like the idea that the role of the equipment and the engineer is capture what the artist is providing, not to color it in their own way.
When I occasionally record other people, I just let them be what they are. If their sound sucks, their amps suck, their drums suck, so what? I'm not there to fix them, I'm there to record them.
