I've been looking at kits. Weber has one for around $500.

They're about the size of a small amp head.
IS that where you got your amp kit form. I am on the site now sniffing around for now reason and they have some really cool stuff there.

Incidentally - I just listened to my recording challenge #1 for the first time in a month or so. I'll just add on the vocal - hopefully - later, and post it up even if the vocal is crap. The music of it is actually pretty tidy.

Here is mine from one of the funniest movies I know...Caddyshack.

May have some tweaking to do but my Spring Break ends tomorrow so I put this together the last couple of days.

Thanks man. I almost did "Suicide is Painless" from MASH, but was too depressing for me even though it's considered dark humor I guess.

musicturtle nice! Sweet harmonies! Nice recording and mix too.

As for mine progress is slow. I was hoping track it all this weekend but the kids have been sick since midweek and I havent had time to learn one part of the song. I was hoping to at least track drums today but its doubtful since the sick kids and all, I cant really be loud today.

Thanks liv....I get what you mean with the loudness. My family gets a bit annoyed sometimes when I "crank up" my little Bugera or Katana 50. I can only imagine if I had a drum kit going too.

I was gonna keep this a secret & surprise you guys, but looks like the surprise part may not happen...I was gonna haul my interface/mics/gear up to the church where my nephew is the preacher, & use his drum kit on this...It would be the very first time for me attempting to record a real kit, but there's electrical problems at the church, apparently mice have eaten/chewed some wires, & they haven't got it fixed yet...I still have a week on my deadline, but not sure the real drum thing is gonna happen on this one or not...

I've already started on it, but may have to use fake drums on this one, we'll see...

LOL good one, Turtle :D

As for my own submission, it's going to be a couple of months before I can get to it. I dismantled most of my studio yesterday in preparation to have open houses next weekend. So I'm going to be guitarless/bassless/MIDIless/micless until I get set up in the new house. I already miss all of my gear, and it's only been a day.

Just got around to listening to this properly at home.
Its a really excellent recording - great vocal.

Not familiar with the film or the song - but it sounds good.
