Indeed! I had a thread a while back about them cracking and picking out new ones. I actually prefer the new ones, the HHX's.

I have a cracked Paiste 2002 that broke my heart. What really sucked about it cracking is that it was totally preventable. I'd inadvertently bumped a mic stand and it was just barely touching the edge of the cymbal every time I hit it. I thought it sounded weird but didn't notice it right away. Then....pwoooosssshhhhhhhhhhhssssizzle. That telltale horrible sizzling sound of a cracked crash cymbal. I was so mad.

Bummer. Mine cracked from hitting them hard and at bad angles. Plus they are so thin to begin with.

I've had my 2002s for about 15 years now. Tons of recording and live use. The mic stand mishap is the only one I've broken. *Knocks on wood*

I would, probably not worth it with shipping though. I would scoop one up for the right price though have never seen the right price lol. I see expensive broken cymbals locally sometimes for like $20-100, same with ebay, though I havent actually searched in a while.

The crack is only like 1/2 inch long. It can probably be drilled out and repaired. I've never seen a repaired cymbal last very long though.

Thanks. I've got plans to add a 10" rack tom and 14" floor tom, but those are lower on the GAS-priority-list than a new interface.
