The beats we all know

Post by liv_rong »

I often show this beat to people just starting out or asking questions. I don’t know it all or am perfect at anything but I use what I know to accent the parts of a song. This just shows a few different ways to play the same beat we all know. I regularly mix and match tons of different simple techniques in my parts to make it sound more interesting even though I’m not doing much. This just kind of breaks down a bunch of stuff into 6 different parts. You’ll get the idea.

I'm always fascinated watching drummers do their stuff. It helps no end when programming faux drums. Whenever I'm at a gig I'm not watching the guitarist(s), I'm watching the drummer.

Unless there's a hot chick in the band, in which case, fuck the drummer and everyone else. :lollers:

So more videos please liv! And anyone else...

I think I can still do some of these - the last one I've got no chance with though.
Watching this really makes me want a drumkit again!

Hmm, I could probably do the bass drum bit - with some time.
I can only get two things going at once so I may manage something else eventually.
I think I was scared and scarred after seeing a film of Ginger Baker explaining/demonstrating his method - may have been Goodbye Cream.

Or in the audience
awesome youtube comment of the day
Lol it's still less satanic than whatever rituals Katie Perry and Taylor Swift do in their performances. 😂

Messing around with a pattern alternating between the snare and hats. Just a “normal” beat with an attempt at spicing it up.
