Ray, what is most likely going on here is that the "ripple edit" function is engaged. This means when you drop a clip into the timeline it shunts the subsequent clips along. If you disable it (there will be a button somewhere or an option in a drop-down menu) then your new clip should paste over the top, like in Reaper.

I can't remember Tad,Tadpui wrote: ↑Mon Apr 30, 2018 1:29 am What separate packages did you have to download? Mine was a single download and install, and it worked on the first try. I'm on windows 10 pro, x64 with latest updates. It's crashed on me once but thats the extent of my issues. Sorry it didn't work out, it really is a nice app.
It may have been the packages that came with it but were separate when un zipped.
Not a big issue - I'll have to spend some time learning the one I have.

It wasn't that issue - it's when a transition like fade out is applied it creates some overlap for the adjacent clips - same with some other transitions. Basically I think I need to apply the transitions as I go so that the synch can be sorted at that stage & not have a knock on "ripple".
I'll get there eventually.
All is relative and as I'm almost finished making a batch of muffin sized sticky date puddings I won't care for an hour or so anyway.

Nice!
A comic sans-esque font was an interesting choice.
Where'd you get the background footage?

I got the footage from a website called pixabay.com - it has free images and videos.

Silent Waltz - this is a very simple video to accompany the song and allow it to be posted in various places...

That's really well stuck together, Steve.
Where's the weird video of the blokes in ropes cobbled together from?
I installed DaVinci yesterday - its complicated, but looks like it will be quite versatile - isn't this what you use?

Re: The Recording Rebels Video thread
I pull a bunch of random stuff from the Prelinger Archives on archive.org. (Hooray for a robust public domain)
It's some random film called "Once upon a honeymoon" I think? I haven't even watched it. I just scrubbed through for cool looking images.

Steve, I tried using that DaVinci package you told me about... it’s tricky. I get the impression that’s it’s pretty good though, I just need to take the time to learn to use it.

Re: The Recording Rebels Video thread
I was just mucking around with camera and video editor trying to work it all out again, so as an exercise I did a video of me (you'll have to take my word for it... ) playing an upcoming tune to be known as "Is It Too Soon?" - no words yet, I'm sort of just miming to the audio that I've so far recorded.
Thought some of you may also be interested in how I play, which is probably not quite normal in a few respects..
It's a long 2:45 seeing I'm not doing anything majorly interesting, but that sort of wasn't the point.

Re: The Recording Rebels Video thread
I've "lifted" a shitload of footage from Prelinger for my Armistice vids. Great resource. I'll do another video sometime using footage of strippers from the 40s which I found. Excellent raw material.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Mon Jun 04, 2018 3:02 pm I pull a bunch of random stuff from the Prelinger Archives on archive.org. (Hooray for a robust public domain)
