I don't know how to sync video with audio. I have a nice camera and can't even get the videos off of it.

Bloody hell. You hook up your camera via a USB, look for it in your list of drives, open it and drag the video files into whatever folder you want to keep them in. Open one of them with Movie Maker and start editing. Add an audio file and drag the audio track till it matches up with a sync point you've created on the video clip. A clap or something. That's a basic start. The rest is just reaper with pictures.

I'd love to be able to do even a basic video. I just can't ever get going.

I have vague plans to do some videos of me playing various bits of various of my tunes explaining what I'm doing, or showing the guitar tracks running on recordings highlighting everything that's happening - I don't play the same as all of you do and you don't play the same as me and we all do things differently at the fretboard, so it may be interesting for some to actually see what others are up to.

Plus with all these constant exhortations to turn the drums, bass, vocals up and the guitars down in my tunes, some of the finer points of what's going underneath aren't so clear, perhaps.

Just a thought bubble at this point, however.

Steve, I don't know how you do that. If/when I get around to doing some videos of my songs they'll just be boring videos of a bloke looking like he's concentrating playing through his songs.
