Mutt-Bucker Bridge Pickup

Post by JD01 »

Been meaning to do a thread for this for Mutt for ages but wanted to wait until I got the new amp:
Pleased with this one though.

In a mix:

Nice one JD, they are going in the tone bank and up on the website when I update it and go live.

Just a note JD, but the amplitude of the solo seems a little lower than the mix? Am I missing something?

No, its just that in the mix its double tracked and hard panned - I monoed it for the solo version. I could hit it a bit harder with a limter if you like, I've got loads of headroom left before I start to compress at all.

Chain on this one is basic. Bridge pickup into H&K on crunch channel... and that's it!

ACtually, there is a hi-pass on it at about 100hz in the mix to stop it getting rumbly.

Actually its not, its still hi-passed! The emulation has a shit load of bottom in it. I did get some miced up clips later this afternoon though and they sound great! They're in the Tone Thread - I think I'm working out how to mic this amp up now so I can do whatever sort of clips you want really when I get a moment.

OK, here are my latest clips.
H&K crunch channel, 1W mode

Master 12 O'clock.
Mids on about 1 O'clock.
Treb on about 2 O'clock.
Bass on about 11 O'clock.
Gain 1 O'clock.

Single Audix i5 mic, on just off the cap seam. Clips are hi-passed at 100hz in the Rhythm Test Mix, no EQ at all in the Rhythm test.

I'll try and get a test done next weekend specifically for this thread. I'm pretty sure one of my tunes has muted powerchords, choppy strums, chords ringing out and just strummed chord sequences all within about 40s - so that will cover a lot of bases in one clip.

OK, these happen to be all in one song but for a wider variety of playing styles.
Settings generally as above although the master is slightly lower

In a mix (50hz hi-pass on the guitars and reverb to suit the mix):
Rhythm Mix 1.mp3
Double tracked rhythm (no EQ or effects):
Rhythms Double Tracked.mp3
Single tracked rhythm:
Rhythm Solo.mp3
