I like the camera is shaking in time with your kick!
Looks like you've got a great setup there, Liv.

liv is a very good drummer.
I play drums and can't do any of that tippity tap accent stuff he does.

Thanks Gergory. I dont have stamina and cant play what you play either!
As always, I record almost everything I play lol. Here that same part in the video extended out a bit. Better sound quality and some other little drum tweaks.

Nice stuff, liv - I like that sort of drumming. Wooden floorboards? Judging by the camera shake?

It’s made for basements so you can avoid any seepage that might occur and not ruin whatever floor you want to install.
Re: liv_rong's idea/tone thread
A long time ago I read an article about a guy that made a drum riser that floated on tennis balls. IIRC he did it for isolation/noise transfer reasons in his loft-type apartment. It was really cool. He built a platform large enough for his kit and drilled spaced out holes just big enough to locate the tennis balls and sort of lock them in place. It wasn't any bouncier than a normal drum riser and seemed to do the trick.

That’s pretty hardcore. Dude probably loved math.Greg_L wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 9:27 pmA long time ago I read an article about a guy that made a drum riser that floated on tennis balls. I'm gonna be setting a kit up in my attic... so some sort of botched DIY approach that an autistic weirdo would invent is well interesting.

Re: liv_rong's idea/tone thread
I saw something similar. It was pretty fascinating. Not being a drummer i did like his approach to filiming a with and without said riser for sound nerd purposes. It was definitely cool.
Here is a link to the one i watched. +1 for youtube histories.

Re: liv_rong's idea/tone thread
God damn that honestly seems crazy. I mean I get it if you're in an apartment or something, but even then it wouldnt work for someone like me. Even with all the dampening and shit on the drums it would still be loud and heard in another apartment.
Re: liv_rong's idea/tone thread
Also I started messing around with this old little riff(is it a riff?) from almost a year ago. I had the main part then and the turn around but just came up with another part. Now I'm going to turn this into a full song.

Little thing from last night. It seems like it could be the base for something maybe. The picking purists will love it lol
