Seditionaries back on the road!
Our government has just allowed outdoor concerts to resume. We have our first one on Saturday!

That's you, second from right, yes?
Unrehearsed - could be fun! Good luck with it...

Awesome! Good luck.
I've canceled and refused any gigs around here. We are in no position to be hanging out in crowds....but idiots keep doing it anyway.

It's properly outside, really big stage so the band can actually distance from each other and the audience, the bar service is one-way, keep to your own tables, outside bottle bar, strictly limited numbers. I think it will be great.

Yeah, that's me.
We don't rehearse generally unless we have new stuff to learn, but we will all put in a good shift brushing up this week.
The way I see it, it's a step back towards normality.

Glad to hear it Bubba ..... stay safe but rock out mang!
I actually am gigging every Fri., Sat. and Sun.
But I'm a solo so I only have to keep my multiple personalities separated.
All my gigs are outside and no one comes within less that 10 feet of me other than to throw some money in the tip jar which I leave untouched in my truck for a week.
I wear a mask for the 90 seconds it takes me on Sunday to go in and grab my check and then disinfect with the 99% rubbing alcohol I've bought a gallon of and put into sprayers.
I can't imagine I have any chance of getting it
However, Friday I had to play inside for the first time.
I made sure to set myself back in a corner behind all my speakers and such and it was an area where no one was passing by and it was impossible to get within 10 feet of me and only 3 or 4 even did that.
The majority were 20-50' away.
But they were congregated and no one was wearing a mask.
I didn't like it to tell the truth but I still think i was safe.

From some of what I've seen, the one of the big concerns indoors is not being in the path of air circulation from infected people. (i.e. don't be near the A/C)
Which has got to suck in LA in July.

Re: Seditionaries back on the road!
The last gig I played was pre-Covid in the US. It was early March and it was already hot and my side of the stage was perfectly under an AC vent that had no grill on it. So it was like a column of ice cold air blowing straight down. It was awesome. But it also made my guitar go out of tune all the damn time. It was so weird. Stand in the icy wind column and be comfy and out of tune? Or leave the bubble of cool dry air and be hot and stay in tune? I opted for the cool air and tuning after every song.vomitHatSteve wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 11:36 am From some of what I've seen, the one of the big concerns indoors is not being in the path of air circulation from infected people. Bob... Just remembered, your drummer is really high risk isn't he?

He's been given the go-ahead by his specialist. In fact, he's been sharing a cramped mail sorting room (when he isn't out on delivery duties) for months now. He'll be far safer gigging with us!

Your bass player has slightly more beady eyes in the poster - is this the case in real life as well?

Re: Seditionaries back on the road!
First gig back went really well! The guitarist's wife took some vids for us but she's done them all in portrait orientation.

The other one I saw/listened to had very keen crowd vocals too.
That's bloody good sound!
