Back in the day, Shan
Here is a few shots of my live days.
I wasn't always a basement dwelling home recording newb.
Band called Kingswood, 2003 or four.
Same show different angle, Kingswood circa 2003. Those sideburns though, am i right ?
Peytones 2002 i think. Can't be sure. not sure how i'd ever know? That was my amp in behind there. A shitty ol Yamaha G100 100 Watter joby. Broken reverb, i think solid state as well. Sounded like a big ol steaming pile of rubbish until i threw some distortion onto 'er. And even then it was still kind of not good.
Peytones Circa 1999-2000 Maybe?
That one time we played in a fucking mall, 2000. NO enthusiasm at all. Also probably shitfaced.
Somewhere in Nova Scotia, 2002
The Bixbies circa 1999 or some shit. A cover band. We tried to do the me first and the gimmes gimmes shtick. It was a big whatever, but fun as hell.
After gig snacky snacks. ice cream cakes. doesn't go well with Royal reserve Whiskey if i recall correctly. Feel free to use this image should you ever feel the need
I have ZERO images of that punk ska band i was in. there are some out there i just have no idea where? I have a VHS with some of our televised gigs. We did that for some reason. Should maybe crack on with getting those tapes converted and uploaded to the you tubes.
Anyways, that is sort of my image library. I'll come back and update with stories sometime because i have some good ones.
oh and one obligatory skate pic because it was just in the same drive haha.

People want something for nothing, they want it right now. Either they can't tell quality or don't care but feel it is important that everyone agrees with them.

No. it was in the greenwood mall in the Annapolis Valley. I'm not entirely sure how we fell into that. I'm not really sure how that band ended up playing anywhere casue we were LITERALLY a filler band right up until about the last two years of the bands existence. Then we were just our own thing. But myself and my two brothers were all in other bands at the time and given the density of the province and punk scene, the odds of all of our bands playing the same shows were very high, so it kind of made it a no brainer to just put the peytones on the bill becasue we were all going to be under the same roof. that and we notoriously wrote "The Peytones" on random items like our mom's old leg razors, childrens toys from dollarama, or just make last minute sharpie and white t shirt shirts and throw them out at shows. people ate that shit up. The razors didn't go over so well. But you win some you lose some.HatfieldCreek wrote: ↑Sun Feb 19, 2017 3:50 am Is that mall show Scotia Square? Best mid set give away ever was at a hgh school. we catapulted 2 inch rubber bouncy balls into the audience using towels all davey and goliath style once.
We took out a whole bunch of stage lighting. we were never asked to come back.

Re: Back in the day, Shan
Cleaning out old hard drives tonight.
Play in your kitchen after the show you say?! . . . . . Ok!
Merka...
This is a cool one, this was the first single coil big boy Gibson i ever played. It was just pure love after that. I grew up on thrift store guitars and the one i used religiously was an old sears roebuck guitar monstrosity. That sears guitar bit the bisquit the same night this was taken and the dude in the band who opened for us let me use this S-1. What a delight. Tha twas the night that i discovered a good guitar still matters. punk rock or not.

The Mac T was worn as mix of irony and antifashionfashionprovactivism surely.

You nailed it.
You know me too well RayC. either that or i am a transparent cockwomble. I also wore a lot of Britney Spears t shirts back in the day for the same reason. For every three people it made laugh it really irritated at least one. I enjoyed it.
