$170 discount on a Supraphonic
$170 discount on a Supraphonic
If anybody is in the market for a Ludwig Supraphonic, Sweetwater has B-stock ones for $379 (normally $549). I asked my rep what their condition was to justify such a deep discount. He says that they're new in box, from the factory, but they are missing their serial number from the badge. So if you've been on the fence about buying the most iconic snare drum in rock history, now would be a good time to pull the trigger!

A snare drum with a filed off serial number is illegal.

LOL yeah it does sound kinda sketchy. But what a bargain!
I wonder what that does to the warranty? If you don't have a serial, can Ludwig or Sweetwater warranty the thing?

I would assume that if Sweetwater sells it to you, then you and they will have record of the transaction and some kind of warranty will be in effect.
But you won't need it unless they do a warranty refund for any other snares you may have that will now be obsolete in the presence of the mighty Supraphonic.

OK I've got a plan. It's going to involve you stealing back and fencing the vintage fuzz that you helped sell recently. How are your cat burglar skills? I hope they're sharp, because this will require some stealth and dexterity on your part...
