Thanks guys! I promise the sounds I am getting now all around are much better than those scratch tracks. My drums especially, the best Ive ever had them sounding/captured. Im excited to finish this.

Here is a excerpt from the last song, just what the mics heard. This is all raw tracks, no eq, comp, verb, limiting, gates, nothing, just volume adjustments and panning. I feel like a I have a good base to mix from.

I'm a sucker for reverse guitar.
Sounded cool. I liked the bit where the single note repetitions entered.

Really like your setup, Liv.

Curious about your overheads for the drums - they're both in the centre like that - I thought the conventional wisdom was for them to be on the outside facing in.

Listening to your track above though and I think the guitars and drums sound great though.

Thanks man! The overheads are just an x/y set up, one of the many acceptable methods of micing a kit. I will experiment with spaced pair on the next one but they will still be over the kit facing down. I really don’t know many who set up outside and face in, maybe recorderman but that’s just one mic that’s out and facing in. Anyways, I don’t have much experience micing drums, just what I’ve read lol. I’m a newb with all of this really. I mean I’ve been recording for a long time but this is my first real attempt to produce a finished product.

Here is another little clip, again raw tracks no fx,eq or anything. Im hoping during mixing I can get rid of the amp hiss a bit....we'll see. This one has the distorted guitars in it.

I think the guitars on that sound great - I actually, really like the distorted tone.

The drums seem very dry in comparison to the rest of it though.

Thanks dude! That's just two guitar tracks, both the LP. And again, its dry because its not mixed yet lol! Plus my set up lends itself to a very dry sounding kit due to all the treatment near my drums and a lot of close mics.

This is pretty good liver. Nice sounds and stuff. I've listened to the three songs several times now. I think some mix things could be better but it's done so just enjoy it. Congrats on getting some stuff finished.
