The gerg live and loud

Post by Greg_L »

Since I'm a straight fire rock star, here's some live pics

The only pose I have
Image

I might be playing a lead. Can't be good. Nothing good can come from that.
Image

I like this one. The Hallmark Mosrite clone.

A soundman's worst nightmare

Stupid rock face
Image

Good shot of the guitar. I don't know why it's framed so poorly.
Image

Stupid pose again
Image

High speed baby
Image

Artsy
Image

Hallmark again
Image

It's not all powerchords. I can play a D Major.
Image

No idea what's happening here
Image

Another stupid rock face?
Image

This was apparently an SG kind of night.
Image

Who doesn't?

Angry rock

Ace Frehley watches over me

That's more than enough for now.

I have a lot of live shots on the drums, but they're all at least 3 years old and more. Most are way older than that.

I don't have anything interesting as far as pics of me on the drums. I mean, you just sit there and you're hidden behind everything. People always defensively explain to me "I tried to get some pics of you but we can't see you!" It's fine. Drummer shots are pretty boring.

Yeah, I agree. I used to sing a lot of songs from the drums. So, I raised my cymbals pretty high so that I could be seen. But no matter how much energy is going on, it's still just a guy sitting there.

Wow Greg you look pretty cool rocking away on all the different axes.

When I play live I look pretty horrid so, I won't post any pics.
People want something for nothing, they want it right now. Either they can't tell quality or don't care but feel it is important that everyone agrees with them.

Thanks dude. Honestly, I think the trick is to just own it. Good bad, doesn't matter. Act like you're the baddest fucker around and the rest doesn't even matter. :D

They're great. There's a bit of Greg Vai going on in at least one of them.

People do often see the many similarities between Vai and me.

I may get flamed for this but I don't care for Steve Vai's playing He can shred sure but nothing he plays has that "melody" that I look for in a lead break. Technical but not melodic. If that makes sense. I like that ebb and flow kind of playing. I saw a video or read an interview where he spent most of his teenage years practicing 8 hours a day. You'd think after that much time he would be able to play the solo to Smoke on the Water properly. Maybe it's that ugly Ibanez.

I know exactly what you mean. Vai is a hell of a player but his solo music weird and boring. I do give him kudos for his playing on the Whitesnake Slip of the Tongue album. It's funny that I don't care much for Vai but I have 2 of his signature Carvin amps.
