Thanks a lot, fellas! It was a lot of fun once we got into our stride - lots of audience participation, too. :)

Einstein, yes it was me going high on the harmony.

Ray, no mixing to do during the gig - we set it and leave it. Nobody's volumes creep up through the gig - it's not allowed, lol. We're quite disciplined for a punk band. Except the drummer hits his cymbals louder which can send me a bit deaf!

Greg, thanks - I really appreciate that you know the songs better than most and recognise the work we put in to nail the stuff to the best of our ability.

The Pissed Doll'll be an interesting double act. They look & sound like a Girl's School/metal cover band that changed to new wave songs but kept the sound and outfits from their former life.

Today's awesome, Earth-shattering news is that the singer has shat a bollock. He doesn't wish to continue. Where that leaves us, apart from devastated and fucking fit to be tied, I don't know.

Lol. Fucking singers. Can you or the other guitar player sing? Do yall have to have a "lead singer"? What if you and the other guy traded off vocal duties...ala The Clash? That'd also be one less dude to split the pay with. :coolstorybro:

Because he's wasted everybody's time, effort and money. He says he felt really uncomfortable on stage, was embarrassed that he couldn't memorise all the lyrics properly, felt that he wasn't good enough for us and there's a significant proportion of our set list that we haven't attempted yet which he feels he will never be happy or comfortable doing.

Have ya'll tried reassuring him that after some more band practice and a few more live performances it get's better. :lollers:

In any case that is bummer news. Keep on the hunt. you guys deserve to be seen / heard and there is someone somewhere out there that would love to share in what you do. :twocents:

Personality Crisis for him.
He looked too old for instant gratification.
Was he worth persevering with from the band's point of view?
Bummer indeed.

I'll use this thread to announce that we have our fifth member. He's perfect for us. Tonight's audition was better than the gig we did with our last singer after ten weeks' rehearsal. I'm not exaggerating.

Well, he did Cambodia almost perfectly and that was one of the ones he claimed to be "shaky" on. He seems to be the one. He was in a quality Damned trib for a few years but the Damned stuff we did tonight were not his best performances!

LOL.

I found out the other day that shortly before he left, our original singer was having a heated discussion with the drummer (who was often a mediator) in my absence and he referred to me as a "plastic punk". Me, who has been in bands playing punk and post-punk music for almost forty years, both originals and covers. Meanwhile he has been a match angler, maggot farmer and taxi driver without a whiff of punk credentials until he took up fancy dress and karaoke. Fuck him.

I love all the punk credentials that gets thrown around in the punk world. You aint punk, he aint punk, she aint punk, that aint punk, this aint punk, whatever.

I wonder if other genres have that kind of elitism.

You aint country enough, Billy Bob. You aint real country.

How does Swords go down with the crowd? It's silly fun - slip in a few bars of Who Killed Bambi with it?
