I read the article on the evolution of the snare and got into the article about Ringo drum kits https://reverb.com/news/magical-mystery ... ivan-snare

I actually own an early 1960's Ludwig black pearl kit that looks exactly like Ringo's kit. I bought it second hand in the 1980' as a studio kit. I don't even play drums but I love that drum kit, even when it's not being used as a complete kit often parts of it will be used as replacements for the kit a drummer brings in.

I am going to check out which snare I have because apparently it was not the original snare but an earlier model LOL.
