I like the black back look. My Goldtop has a very dark stained back/neck, it almost looks black. But it's like a deep deep cherry red stained mahogany. I think it's gorgeous, and it's not painted, so it feels good. I love it. It used to be satin, but I've since polished it smooth just from using it. It's awesome.
