I know you said you wanted the H-III...but I saw this H-II and thought you might want to check it out.
The starting bid is pretty decent.

thanks ..... I'll put that on the watch list.
I kjinda want the III because if I got one you'd never see me with a strat again!
However ...... sometimes middle p'ups get in my way so a II might be ok ..... but I'm still kinda III bound ..... assuming I have some spare money.

Hey...the vintage market is all over the map these days. :D

I have my 4 vintage Swedes, but I don't have a desire to buy any more, and TBH, I don't play them anywhere near as much as I play the reissues, not because of any problems with them, rather simply because I can get most of the tones I want out the reissues, and they feel as good...so I leave the vintage ones alone, and only when I want the specific sound they can do, will I grab one to cut some tracks.
I would probably never play them out if I was playing out.

If I spot anything else...I'll post it, but you might want to check eBay regularly if you want to land a nice vintage at a really good price...they seem to go quickly, but that said, I think because the vintage ones go quick when it's a good prices, everyone who is selling one is now getting too fucking greedy...and I see guys with silly prices that they will never realize...but I guess they figure they'll hold out until.

Good luck!

gotta be the red one!

I'll be watching ..... wonder if the reissues are cheaper?

We'll see ....... this is a sudden "I'd like that" urge ...... hopefully it'll die down because I don't really need another guitar ...... still ....... :D

Here's a collector grade H-I...not what you were looking for, but you don't see 'em this mint too often, considering it's over 50 years old.

Was watching Foo Fighters at Glastonbury on the TV last night. Pat Smear actually has a Hagstrom signature model.

Its a bit like a "super SG" if you think of an Ibanez as a super-strat... but not quite - its still cooler than that.

Hey Lt....this one might end up being an eBay sleeper (though you never know what will happen on the last day)...and you might be ab;e to steal it for a low price. Right now no one's even watching it.
It's the Hag III...but it looks super clean, and has a very low starting bid.

They might be good guitars, but they always look to me like they're just Frankenstein things bolted together from whatever other guitars someone had lying around.

I can't speak for any of those '60s Hagstrom models...and TBH, I don't care for any of them with the Fender-ish headstock.
My Hagstrom love affair starts with the Swede design, with the original body contour and headstock.
Same for the Viking...I always thought the early versions with the Fender headstock look weird, but that's the one that is famous, 'cuz Elvis used it. Once they settled on their original headstock and started putting it on all their models in the early '70s....that's when I feel that Hagstrom finally found their design identity.
Still those '60s models are quite collectible, maybe even a bit more than the last designs they put out...probably for the exact reason that you and I don't like them.

That old Hag looks really cool - I'm a sucker for switches.
Cheers
