Anyone heard of these things?
Their "find a dealer" thing says they sell them all over Texas... Greg?

Yup, I've seen them here in Texas and in Chicago. Nice guitars.

They do look nice but they're really expensive for such a basic guitar.

Yup, that's the world of "boutique" anything.

There is a guy named Dennis Fano that builds guitars called Novo or Fano guitars. I'm not sure what the differences are, but he's involved with both. Some of them look like a Telecaster, a Strat, a Jaguar, and a Rickenbacker had an orgy and somehow all of that DNA combined into one guitar. They're beautiful and unique and very nice and extremely expensive for what they are. They're like $2900 expensive for what is basically a Strat or a Tele with a Jagenbacker looking body. Totally dumb.

Thats pretty much just a Jnr... as such they are way over priced. Tell you what I'll do a "buy one get one free" for the same guitar spec.. :like:

Yup I see those all the time. Nice guitars. Too expensive. I think expensive is okay if you can get it back, and that really only applies to vintage gear.

You need to hurry up and get yourself a used Gibson. Prices are going up on those things. I think people are seeing the impending doom on the horizon and the "good" Gibsons are becoming higher in demand. My uninteresting no-vintage-value 2011 Traditional is selling used for close to the same price I paid for it new. That's shocking.

I'd have got one about 3 years ago if I could play the fucking things.

Nah, I said you were not as picky as others I do stuff for... I'm still in planning stage for that guitar I told you about. Thats nearly 5 months dithering now.. I know full well that just like the misses when she is shopping it will go right back to the first choice made...

Collings is well regarded in the acoustic arena with both their guitars and mandolins and thought of as fair value. Those considering a Martin, Taylor or Gibson acoustic would give the Collings line a listen.

I have not heard much concerning their electrics. The company has a good reputation but as Greg mentioned it is boutique and comes at a premium. But, there is nothing wrong with that if you like the guitar, can afford it and it brings you years of enjoyment.

Collings turns up a lot when im hunting for leftys. I quite like a lot of what they offer but id never pay that much for one.

JD have you ever looked at https://www.reverendguitars.com/guitars ?

Don't quote me on this but i dont think they cost anywhere near as much as the Collings line and there are alot of similarities with a few of each companies models.

I might echo Greg on the Gibson thing. My LpJr is now selling for quite a bit more used than i paid for it new. I really didn't anticipate that when i bought it. Which komd of stinks because my junior is my "everyday" guitar and it has some wear and had a rather unfortunate knock on the headstock. But of you can now would be the time to grab one if you wanted one!

Mine wasn't an investment guitar anyways so i dont so much. It is my primary noise maker and so it shall remain lol.

Yeah, I’ve seen reverands but I’ve not played on one. I’d like to give them Railhammer pickups a go for no other reason than they look cool.
