pedalboard build

Post by liv_rong »

This is my second build, this one is better so far than the last but now that Im getting toward the end my lack of skills is becoming apparent lol. I dont have a lot of proper tools for this either, not that that's an excuse or anything. Made with some leftover oak flooring and I went and bought a couple other pieces for the sides and back, also bought a power supply. For more details I have a thread at The Gear Page as well.

Wow, that looks really nice man!

What does the raised area afford you? Is that for a multi-FX unit or something?

Thanks guys!

That top tier will be for less used/accessed pedals that I'll have in a loop. The bottom row will have pedals I switch h often and the left side will have an expression pedal and eventually a compressor.

LOL, most overengineered pedalboard ever! Do you intend to gig with this? I think it looks good, but it has to be well heavy. I've never used pocket screwing to put anything together that I've made, I assume you have a metal jig for that?

Lol yeah it is a bit overbuilt. I don't play out on guitar. I could have just done something simple but I like a good project and like all the cables somewhat organized and not cluttered. I just used the cheaper plastic Kreg kit for the pocket screws, I think it was like $40. I'll post more pics once everything is installed.

Well, I reckon if you're gonna do something you might as well do it right! It's perfect if you're not taking it out anywhere. What's the final finish going to be?

I'm stuck, today - it's too cold to spray lacquer, even with the anti-bloom thinners I'm using. :(

DONE! I still have to figure out exact pedal layout as Im close to pulling the trigger on another, so I may wait a week or so to wire it all up. Also seems a shame to put velcro on this.

Massively over-engineered... but very, very cool. Looks like you've made a great job of it too. What are all the inputs on the back for?

Have you got a wah wah?

Lol, no it isn't. It's very properly engineered, Mr. Plank-on-the-ground. :lollers2:

Mine isn't a plank! it has little legs at each corner - longer legs at the back too!
