Im corned beef..can anyone give this the once over?

Post by itsnotkcearl »

Im slowly going deaf, one ear at a time...even stuff center panned sounds about 2 o clock :facepalm2:

the vocoder needs rerecorded, and the pianos a bit loose but are the levels OK on this? thanks anyone that has a few mins :coolstorybro:

I like the looser pianos. It helps make it not sound so robotic. But it all seems fine to me. As someone that doesn't know the finer details of this kind of stuff, I could just sit back and listen and nothing sounded bad at all to me.

Sounds really good to me. Nice electronic kick, ambient synths work well. There's a bit of hiss and I was hoping for a chord change in the first third of the song, but otherwise great. :)

Kids do whine in that shrill frequency range that is damaging to the ears. Benadryl and cough syrup usually takes care of it. For them. And you. :coolstorybro:

Seems generally pretty cohesive to me.

I might take those hats down a touch. They're pretty up-close and slightly harsh.

So that means you can calculate the resonant frequency of your head, right? That could be useful to know!

Last year I had some kind of sinus thing, and it clogged my left ear, not where it was real noticeable, but when I was in the studio, I realized that everything was off center to the right, and I had to compensate with about 4dB more level on the left to get it centered.
That shit lasted for about a month...but I went and got some of the original Sudafed...the stuff you now need to see the pharmacists for...and I took those decongestants for a couple of weeks, and it opened up the inner ear canal and my hearing came back, and the mix balance came back.

Anyway...I can listen to electronic, synth, trance stuff a lot, as long as there's interesting lines and instruments/sounds coming and going.
It's great if you just want a background mood without listening to "songs" and hearing vocals.
It sounds good as is...some nice transitions. :coolstorybro:

The first part was repetitive, remember I have ADHD :)
But after the first minute it started getting interesting and I relaxed and just enjoyed the music.
Recording sounds good all in all so not issues for me in that department.
You do have some NICE sounding synths man.....
People want something for nothing, they want it right now. Either they can't tell quality or don't care but feel it is important that everyone agrees with them.

Thx Ido...need to be more active in here forgot this was up and I need to listen to other tunes in here too

Yeah the intro...trying to not make every tune have the intro of a 10 minute dance tracks hard for me. Coming up with more original approaches to bringing a tune in escapes me as well. Glad you like the synths...Im building up a nice collection, mixture of vintage and modern

It all sounded very good to me.

Someone commented about the hats. I agree they're either a little loud or have too much midrange dialed in. Like in the mid-2kHz area.

Other than that, I thought it was real good.
