Faint Aroma Video

Post by rayc »

Dead simple vid of this track featuring Greg & Supercreep. It's ALMOST a Greg solo as he did guitars & drums!
Casey wrote & sang the melody.
It doesn't have any performance vid component because no one was inclined.

This is really excellent - I feel like I've heard this before, but don't remember it ever coming up in the HR mixing clinic or anything like that.

Ray - can you email me it so I can stick it in my "rebels keepers" directory.

Email what James? The link or the actual vid?
I can't email anything bigger than 1/2 a meg.
I can put it in Dropbox if you like.

Yes, Casey did a grand job and you did fabulous work on the main guitars and drums - so almost all the lifting was done by you & Casey.

I don't remember what I did for the guitars, but it seems like I tried to summon some Johnny Thunders. I like it!

Yeah the convo was Johnny Thunders to counteract my bad Clashesque intro thing.
When I worked on the simplistic vid today I was shocked at how slow the actually is. The shortness probably made me think otherwise.
You did an excellent job Greg - THANKS!

Yeah - a drop-box would be fine.

1/2 a meg? What is this? 1996?... oh Australia...

Yeah, 1996 AND Australia. I'll post the link as soon as it's up - 20meg'll take about an hour to UP.

Very cool! Lead vocal brought Bon Scott to mind. On first listen I thought the bass might be too quiet but second listen it sounded ok. Good job all around!

I remember this one. I really like the song. Great energy.

You could really boost the bass. And the kick somewhat too.

If it had more of a low end, it'd be awesome.

I remember this from ages ago, Ray. I agree that the track could do with a little more low end but it's pretty good as is. The video is what it is - I personally like performance footage, but if none was to be had then you did ok with what you have.

Great track.

7String,
Thanks mate the bass was a hair this way a hair the other in the last mixes - this was the preferred version.
TripleM,
Ta mate. It may be the Utub conversion - or maybe not. The bottom end was commiteed into place at the point just before mastering.
Thanks Bubba,
There was no performance footage or even photos from Casey - other than the one image I found, I did score some vid of Greg on guitar with Crankshaft but thought I'd save that for The Keeper & it seems silly for me to do something as it'd be inconsistent. I've scrounged vid of you from all over the net and am in the process of editing them down to you singing or grimacing.
Cheers
