Pixies live - great mix

Vocals too high in the mix? Too low? Not even sure? Snare sounds wonky? And how do I make everything louder than everything else? Step in, step in, for your mix Viagra from people who know the secrets.

Pixies live - great mix

Post by Greg_L »

I didn't really know where to put this, but since it's the mix I'm freaking out about, it can go here.

This bass tone is fucking bad ass. Starts right away. Goddamn that's a killer bass tone.

For a truly live mix to video, this is one of the best I've ever heard.

ACE bass! There seems to be extra kick thump over on one side though so the other wise excellent mix has a minor flaw. This could. of course, be my sound card or headphones - even my ears.
I think I'll be downloading this vid.
Super bright lipstick doesn't really make her eyes/jowls look less old in close ups though.
Cheers

Greg, have you watched any of the Glastonbury or Reading/Leeds festival stuff that the BBC put out every year? Its normally a really good live mix.

Yeah there's some kick something in the left channel. I don't care, sounds awesome. That bass. :coolstorybro:

I've seen some of it, if it's a band I like, which doesn't happen too often at those festivals.

Kim Shattuck, from The Muffs.

I heard she was too "west coast". Too outspoken, too in your face, too much everything. Pixies are very east coast.
