Interesting series of videos

Stumbled across this while looking up drum kit & mic setups -- first video is micing the drum kit. The entire series is George Massenburg working with a band in the studio; it covers recording different parts of the band, live, then moves a bit into mixing/producing related topics by the end of the series.

I was bored by his awful delivery until he got to "most engineers put their mics in exactly the wrong f***ing place... I can't say f***ing."

Massenburg is a genius. He's done some amazing albums over the years. Thanks for sharing this!

I like the videos. I think they're pretty impractical for single-player home recording, but that's a good look at how real studios record real live bands.

Agreed - not a lot of usefulness which is why I downloaded the ones with any value to me and skimmed the rest.
